ABOUT COACH VANDA

What’s your coaching history?
“I’m a UK Athletics qualified Coach in Running Fitness. I have experience coaching recreational runners of all ability levels, and have been involved with my local running club for over 10 years.”

What’s your favourite thing about coaching runners?
“I’m a hugely passionate runner myself, I run at least 2000 miles per year, and I love to be able to get other people as enthusiastic about running as I am. The great thing on the day is the real buzz at the end of a training session – that’s an achievement.”

What’s your proudest moments as a Coach?
“A few different situations. I feel great when someone sends me a video of them finishing a race and going through the finish line. Maybe they’ve been off work with mental health issues; it’s great to work with them and then they’ve gone back to work. To be part of them getting better has been really great. So lots of different things, and probably lots more to come!”

What’s your proudest personal running achievement?
“Getting a 3:17 at the London Marathon in 2006. It was a great day, I felt good. Someone stood on my foot at mile 10 and I thought that was the end of it! I took a few deep breaths and carried on. My family and friends were there – it was a great experience. There’s nothing like London!”
