Like every great run, our journey has been built one step at a time. These are the moments that have defined our progress so far.
We Run was founded in 2014 by John White - a passionate recreational runner and NHS nurse - after experiencing firsthand the benefits of working with a running coach. The goal was simple: to make professional running coaching accessible to everyday runners.
We started with group coaching, but our first 1:1 session took place in Richmond Park, London in March 2015. Tailoring every part of the training to each runner’s goals and needs, 1:1 coaching quickly became our most popular service.
We were thrilled to become the official training partner for Race for Life in June 2015, leading group sessions for their running fundraisers in London parks. This marked the start of our work supporting fundraisers for some of the UK’s biggest and most influential charities.
Driven by great feedback from our early clients, we set to work expanding our coaching team across the UK, adding experienced and passionate coaches to help everyday runners reach their goals.
Eager to support more runners, we launched our Virtual Running Club in 2018 - a welcoming online community packed with resources on our app, designed to bring runners of all abilities together.
We were proud to welcome our 10,000th runner in March 2023, all whilst maintaining an average 4.9-star rating across our review platforms.
In December 2024 we undertook a full rebrand and launched a new website to enhance our customers' experience and clearly showcase who we are and what we do.

I really enjoyed the progress I made in Angela’s sessions. Her advice was invaluable in my marathon training. Because of Angela's coaching I now really focus on my stance and arms when I run, and use counting and mind games to keep me mentally strong too!! I wouldn’t be running my marathon without her!

My coach, Neil was both very knowledgeable and approachable. We explored the importance of warm-ups, reviewed my form and implemented simple drills to tweak form efficiency.
The sessions were sometimes tough but I came away each time more motivated to improve. I will seriously consider using coaching when I commence my next block of marathon training.

Great experience of being put in touch with a local run coach. Kenny was top drawer, got on straight away and was able to help me bit by bit, without overload. As a total novice who genuinely hates running and not good at it, I do 'hate it less', so that is a success in my eyes.
