A Christmas Message from Coach Alexa
It’s Christmas week this week. I’ll be auto-posting this video, so it will pop up in your feed having been recorded a week or so before.
This video is really to remind you that it is super useful to make sure you schedule in not just the runs, but also some time for you and a little bit of self-care.
Why Self-Care Matters During the Festive Season
Christmas can be a busy time of the year. We often prioritise others over ourselves, which is absolutely the right thing to do in a lot of situations.
However, I would gently suggest that having a little bit of time each day just for you can make a big difference.
Simple Ways to Make Time for Yourself
That time might be getting away from it all to clear your head with a nice run, a walk, or whatever other training you fancy doing that day.
Or it might be about having a bit of a timeout. Half an hour where you go and sit, and say that you want a little bit of time away from the busyness that is going on in your house.
That could look like reading, having an early night, or one of my favourites – getting up in the morning before everybody else and enjoying that quiet time before the day starts getting hectic.
A Gentle Reminder This Christmas
This is really just a reminder to look after yourself. Whatever you’re doing over Christmas, make a little time and space just for you.
It’s not always 100% about everybody else, although it can feel like that sometimes.
Wishing You a Wonderful Festive Period
Most importantly, I hope that whatever you’re doing and however you’re celebrating, you have a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful time over this festive period.
I’m really looking forward to working with you in 2026. Happy running.
